Lisbon Downtown (situated at roughly 1 km / 0,62 miles), is a pleasant neighborhood, with elegant squares, pedestrian streets, cafes and shops, offering visitors the opportunity to engage with the local culture, including the so much appreciated trams and funiculars, the street artists, the stores facades built in Art Deco tiles, the pastries and coffee shops where famous writers passed by, such as Fernando Pessoa or Almeida Garrett, street vendors selling everything from flowers to small souvenirs. The perfect place to feel the romantic atmosphere of the end of the XIX century and beginning of XX century.
In the middle of the Marquês de Pombal Square, is the Parque Eduardo VII, which offers a breathtaking view over the city and is often used to host exhibitions, concerts and the annual book market (held in June).
